As the morning began to shine above the busy city, folks walked on the streets and on the sidewalks, some even staying in the nearby park to watch the sun rise. A few were still tucked away in their bed, sleeping the morning away as they waited for either their alarms or their own bodies to jolt them awake and force them to start yet another day in their lives. Some lives were great, while others... not so much. In the midst of an apartment building, a dim light would shine in one of the apartments. The light of a phone, brightly illuminating the dark room and shining a bit on the curtains. Suddenly, an alarm would go off. "6AM. Wake Up and see him <3" was what the text below the time said.
Without hesitation, a scarred arm would reach out of the warm blanket to grab the phone. As the other hand moved away the blanket from the person's face, a very tear-filled eye could be seen. Sniffles would come out of the blanket as the person tried to see what was on the phone. Her vision was blurry due to a condition — Peter's Anomaly, a rare congenital condition that affected the person's cornea and caused corneal opacity. After slightly being able to read it, she turned off the alarm, putting the phone down on its screen, and buried herself back into the blanket, sniffles still being heard. Not long after, however, a ding could be heard — a text message. But from who? She would grab her phone again, checking the message at the bottom of the screen as best as she could.
BESTIE 🩷:
Hey, how U holdin up aftr last nite?
With a quiet groan, she would get up, uncovering herself from the blanket. Her white, fluffy hair was a mess, and the pillow beneath her was full of tear stains, along with her eye being red and puffy. Hesitant, she wanted to just read it and not reply, but that was her friend... her BEST friend... with a small sigh, she replied.
Me:
Not too well... still miss him.

Great. A concert on her shoulders along with what happened last night. This was going to be a day.
Getting off of her bed, she would sit at the edge, stretching before getting up, scratching her side as she made her way to the bathroom. The lights would turn on and it felt like a flashbang to her eye. After getting used to the new brighter atmosphere, she would start to get ready, changing her eyepatch that covered her... missing eye, brushing her teeth, doing her things y'know. Afterwards, she would go to her living room, sitting down, remote in one hand, phone in the other, and she would turn the tv on, hoping to watch some TV.
Netflix seemed like a good thing to watch some sob stories or random vampire movies, so she entered the app, hoping to just find one quickly, but she was met at the sight of the profiles. Two profiles were there: Her own, and... Mark's profile. She would quickly delete it, a few tears pricking in her eyes due to the pain, but he had broke her heart, and it had to be done eventually. Now, she could watch her movies in peace, not having to be plagued with Mark's profile.

"I'm Thinking of Ending Things" was her film of choice, and she had just finished watching the film. She would turn the tv off, muttering to herself as she scratched her side.
"Mmgh... maybe i should get a coffee... I need to wake up..."
She would make her way to her room, opening her closet as she skimmed through the clothes on the racks.
"It's not like i'm going to do anything today other than the concert... the original plans were ruined ever since last night."
Talking to herself... a calming sensation that she did all the time. She was always lonely, alone in her home with no one to talk to but herself. She didn't really like company that much anyway. Her friends understood, right? After picking out the right outfit — a black sweater with loose shorts, along with a scarf and boots — she quickly went to the bathroom to get changed.

The doorknob rattled as she locked her apartment door from outside, carrying her necessities along with her. Her eyes were still puffy, but honestly, she'd deal with that before the whole show. She would quickly make her way down the stairs, since her apartment was just 3 floors up, and she would step outside, the chilly breeze hitting her like a fan on a hot summer day. She wondered why CJ had decided to do the concert tonight, but questioning him was proven to be close to impossible. Yes, you want funds for your bottom surgery, but with the little pay you are getting from the boss, do you really have to do a show every 2 months? She would groan before making her way to the nearest coffee shop, the place where she can at least get a bit of relaxation and stress out, along with calmling music in her ears that give her ideas on what type of song to write.
As she made her way there, she greeted her neighbors and other citizens that she so happened to know. The coffee shop was just a quick 8 minute walk, so she could take in some time to admire things like the birds, nature and-
"OOF-"
Her thoughts were interrupted by an accident — bumping into someone. Now this could be one of three things:
1. It was a random person that she so happened to accidentally bump into
2. It was one of her friends that was going somewhere, and she just so happened to stumble into them
3. It was Mark, the one guy she didn't want to see right now.
Turning around, she quickly started to apologize to the person that she had bumped into.
"OH GOD, IM SO SORRY, I-I WASN'T LOOKING AT WHERE I WAS GOING AND-"
"Relax! It's okay, Rubes!"
Still muttering, she would look up, slowly trying to make out who it was. Dark hair, glasses, a purple swearshirt... she would stumble back once she had realized who it was, but she might've almost fell once she realized who was next to the figure.
"SHOOT! It's just you two... you both gave me a scare... I almost had a heart attack..."
CJ would let out a tiny snort, his fangs showing even with his mouth closed, almost like tiny slightly curved tusks. Vade would try and tell him to knock it off, but it was practically no use as he kept chuckling and laughing. Ruby would look at the both of them, a slight face of embarrassment on her face. She would've just ran away, back up the stairs to her cozy apartment, and just lock herself in her room for the remainder of the day. The other woman would look at her, a small smile on her face.
"Ignore this doofus, he's just feeling giggly... It's not because of you, Rubes. At least I HOPE IT ISN'T."
The moment that she had said that, CJ would stop laughing, putting his calm and collected facade back on. He would clear his throat, a toothy smile on his face as he spoke.
"Are youuuu going to the coffee shopppp?"
His eyes would gleam a bit, almost like an excited puppy. The other woman would gently push him jokingly, almost as if she was trying to break his little act. Ruby would look at both of them before speaking, her voice in a slight whisper.
"Y-yeah... I really need to relax... are you two coming too?"
"Oh, we were going to the nearby park, but I guess we can make a quick stop for ya!"
The albino would nod, a small smile on her face. The three of them would then slowly make their way to the coffee shop, the smell of coffee already hitting their noses as they arrived.
